Jack & Olive host health and wellness focused retreats in incredible parts of the world. They believe that creating a happier, healthier life begins with finding balance. Their retreats are fundamentally about helping our clients become aware of any areas in their lives that need more care and attention. Claire Robbie and Luke Sniewski are the Yin/Yang of each retreat experience and their individual strengths provide a truly holistic approach to their coaching.

Claire and Luke fell in love with Daku on their last trip to Fiji. Working with us at Daku, they have created an incredible schedule that combines the magic of Fiji with yoga, fitness, and Lifestyle Transformation workshops. Start the day with power yoga or a fitness class in the hilltop yoga shala over looking turquoise waters. After breakfast by the pool the day is yours to spend exploring nearby beaches, forest hiking, fishing, snorkeling or scuba diving. The program is outlined below, and you are free to add on extras of your own choosing. Before dinner, there will be relaxation yoga or restorative classes to get you ready for your traditional Fijian meal.

Nutrition seminars, yoga and meditation workshops are on the evening’s itinerary too. You’ll leave feeling truly rejuvenated, refreshed and with a new set of tools to take into your healthier, happier lifestyle.

Claire 2Luke1Part of every Jack&Olive experience is founder Claire Robbie. This true-blue Kiwi girl combined an adventurous spirit, experience in tourism and her devotion to yoga to create the perfect getaways in beautiful parts of the world.

Claire has focussed many of the retreat destinations in the country she knows and loves the best, New Zealand. Her family’s obsession with the ocean and boating meant she spent most of her childhood exploring islands and beaches the length and breadth of this south pacific island paradise. After living in the beachfront community of Santa Monica for five years, Claire got to know the United States pretty well, in particular Southern California. There she worked as a yoga instructor and guide for YogaVacay, a yoga focused retreat company and created many amazing contacts in the yoga world there.

Claire takes care of all logistics involved in planning J&O’s retreats. She also runs the yoga element of each escape and on each Jack & Olive retreat guests will practice either an invigorating vinyasa flow class in the morning or a relaxing evening yin yoga session after the day’s activities. Her formal training is in Ashtanga-based based power vinyasa flow and yin yoga. In her classes as she takes into account that every person has different needs and capabilities. Each retreat is about helping people find their own tools that they can take back into their lives to help them deal with physical and mental stress as well as have a fantastic and memorable vacation.

Claire is an integral part of the Jack & Olive experience. Yogi, guide, advisor and friend she has hand-picked each element of the retreat destinations to make sure her guests get the very best, localized and off-the-beaten path experience. Claire wants her guests to feel like they’re part of the family.

Luke Sniewski is the backbone of the fitness, nutrition, health and wellness focus on each Jack & Olive retreat. Luke brings with him a profoundly in-depth and awe inspiring understanding of the human body and how it works. His knowledge, combined with his humility and sense of personal responsibility, makes him the perfect compliment to the Jack & Olive family. His motto “Health is the Foundation of Happiness” is his personal mission statement and guides his coaching, speaking, writing, and his company, LEAF Lifestyle.

Luke started his career in health and wellness as a personal trainer. He soon realized that there was more to health than just a good workout. He became obsessed with the body and all of its interconnected systems. He learned the most important detail regarding human health: every little detail matters. It’s the whole lifestyle, not just a fad diet or exercise program but how people eat, move, laugh, think, love, learn, and socialize that creates a healthy individual. His ultimate goal is to make his clients their own wellness guru.

A devoted and perpetual student, Luke’s educational journey includes Neuromuscular Therapy, Functional Diagnostic Nutrition, Metabolic Typing, Functional Soft Tissue Transformation, professional cooking school, various corrective exercise and performance certifications, and a Masters of Science in Sustainable Food Systems from one of the top environmental schools in the country, Green Mountain College.
