Pam’s classes are tailored to the individual student. She moves each person through a series of gradients that allow for the beginner to commence practice or for an experienced yogi to pursue more difficult asanas, both with equal confidence to advance at their own pace.

An emphasis on pranayama is a distinguishing feature of her classes — a method of yogic breath exercises designed to relax and enhance the nervous system, strengthening one’s immunity and leading to better mental and physical health.
A typical class can include:

•    Commencing with a chakra meditation to centre oneself and forget the outside world,it flows  to incorporate a guided pranayama practice
•    Moving into a series of postures and stretches to relax the body, increase flexibility and remove energy blocks, further focusing the mind
•    Improving energy flow with more breathing practices to integrates and harmonise the body, mind and spirit with deep relaxation and meditation.

The morning class will follow the above program, with an emphasis on waking the body, mind and spirit. The late afternoon practice will take the form of restorative yoga, with time to really explore the deeper path to meditation.

Yoga Nidra will also form part of the afternoon practice. This is a specialised form of conscious relaxation which has profound effects on the human body (30 minutes of Nidra is said to be equivalent to approximately 4 hours sleep).

The workshop will unfold over the week delving into the benefits of having a regular practice of meditation, and steps to help release blockages that might prevent a fulfilling meditation practice.

Pam has studied with many different teachers , including her original teacher Gail Pisani in Sydney at Premier College ,  where she undertook traditional hatha as well as Kundalini training. Other teachers have included Donna Farhi, Samadhi yoga training in intensive pre/postnatal childbirth, which led to study in yoga for fertility which she teaches in workshop form from her studio. She has also  studied with Annette Loudon who specialises in yoga for breast cancer patients.

Her clients include CEO’s of many large corporate companies who report greatly reduced stress levels, and a sense of health and well-being with her guidance. She conducts numerous classes throughout the week, complimented by retreats taken regularly in various locations away from congested city life. Places in these retreats are highly sought after and spots fill quickly.

Instructor Details

Pamela Badman is an experienced yoga and stress management teacher based south of Sydney with a client base that covers both the corporate sector and casual group classes.

A deep interest in meditation and the effects it has on stress levels led her to a more involved study of this area, and a focus on incorporating it in her teaching. She noticed that her corporate students wanted more and more of the meditation component of her teachings, to help them with their high stress levels. At the same time, her other students were benefiting from this approach to yoga – everybody from mums juggling many different balls, people living and or  recovering from illness, couples struggling with the trauma of infertility and the stresses of IVF …..the list went on, reflecting the many demanding aspects of a modern fast paced life of high expectations.

As a result she developed her teaching approach to embrace her knowledge of stress management. This has resulted in a very different type of class, one where the body is certainly strengthened and stretched, but the mind is also made more resilient and able to respond to challenges, leading to a nurtured balanced soul.
