Retreat Details

Adriana’s first visit to Daku Resort  left her with the conviction that the yoga room was a truly unique place, an impression confirmed after her next two retreats:
I’ve travelled the world and have practised in many varied and beautiful locations but the yoga shala at Daku is by far the most divine I have experienced. The view is breath-taking… the room is perched high, nestled amongst palm trees overlooking the serene ocean. This is one place I had to meditate with my eyes open. Ahhhh…. perfect! The food is delicious and the staff where happy to prepare vegetarian meals for me. I felt very comfortable and relaxed at the resort. Overall an experience I’m looking forward to repeating over and over again. Thank you to my gracious hosts who took very good care of me… Om shanti…

The morning sessions will start with breath work (pranayama) and observing silence with guided meditation. From there we’ll start to explore the yoga poses (asanas) and over the week the classes will increase in level of endurance through building awareness with core strength and flexibility. It is inspiring and energizing to work in a group however each person will be guided to work at a pace that supports their own needs.

The afternoon class will be an experience of Adriana’s signature meditation course “I AM PEACE”. It is a profound remedial approach to deep inner harmony and peace. You will feel renewed in both body and spirit. No class Wednesday afternoon. This is a perfect time to rest up and get a massage.

Class duration: Morning is upto 2.5 hrs and the afternoon class is 1.5 hrs.
Adriana’s style of yoga is based in the Vinyasa Hatha discipline that birthed Iyengar and Ashtanga Yoga. Expansive. Nurturing. Surprising. Yoga is like being offered a map. The destination is a continued arrival of bliss, over and over again.

Instructor Details

My most profound teacher is that of this beautiful land we live on. I sync my teaching to the rhythm of nature and allow her influence to inspire my thinking, my practice and my teaching. The prana (energy) of the land, air, ocean and forests of Savusavu call me back each year for deeper nourishment and renewal. This enchanting land with its peaceful people is the perfect setting for flourishing from our truth and ultimately transforming our lives. This coming home to our true nature is like falling in love over and over again. This is my yoga.”

Daily Programme

The programme will offer two workshops every day. In between, there will be time to relax by the pool, go into Savusavu town  and enjoy some local excursions. As part of the week’s retreat there’s a free half hour massage, a trip to the beach and the blue lagoon at Devodara, an outing to a waterfall, and a trip to visit a glorious revitalizing hot mud bath.
